In your hand – a gateway to well-being and spirituality

Psalm 119:18 “Open My Eyes that I may see wondrous things through thy Torah”

Sanctifying  your smartphone!

The  Smartphone is symbolic of our digital and cyberspace environment.

Currently, our cell phones effectively operate as “brain extenders,” hooking us into vast networks that aid our memory and enhance our knowledge. Soon, though, the computing functions of a cellphone will likely become an internal brain “add-on”

Remembering the Experience and Experiencing Remembrance

Just out of seminary preparing for my first officiating at a funeral, I recalled the advice of one of my mentors: “when you meet with the family ask for photographs of the deceased and build your words around them.” The photos, whether posed or candid, enabled the mourners to focus on meaningful stories and memories that could be shared with others.

Photographs add a spiritual dimension to our lives, smartphones aid us in ‘capturing’ moments!

Testimonials for Smartphones as Sacred Instruments

Smartphones are human contributions to God’s creative process.

I see God in the instruments and mechanisms that work reliably, more reliably than the limited sensory departments of the human mechanism.

What spiritual richness is accessible for us, created in the “Tzelem” or image of the creator, through “Tzelum” or Photography? “Tzelem” and “Tzelum” are related in Hebrew.

Recognize that as you are creating a photograph, God is creating through you. Both the subject of your photo and the photograph itself are facets of Hamakom. Open your eyes in wonder everyplace. With eyes of wonder you can discover the miraculous in the mundane. Stop long enough to uncover veiled aspects of Hamakom expressed through the built environment and frame them through your lens.

In Genesis 22:17 the reward is: “I will bestow My blessings upon you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars of heaven and the sands on the seashore”.

Sand is of course, silicon; and stars are light. So silicon and light, photonics are the basic units of the blessings and the basic units of cyberspace are also silicon and photonics.

We need to remember that the term Adam is exactly the same word for adamah, namely earth silicon.
Our new boundary crossing is leading us in the use of glass (remember: silicon-sand), and light (remember: the stars) with fiber optics and wireless technologies.

“In the networks of all networks (the cloud), God created media systems for the formation of spiritual and material realms.”

. “In the network of networks, God created media systems for creating heaven and earth. When the earth was absolutely empty and dark, God created light and separated between light and darkness (1 and 0)”

The media system of heaven, the spiritual realm, is written in the Torah with Hebrew letters that form words. The media system of earth, the physical realm, is written with electrons and protons that form atoms and molecules. “
